Jakarta
Jakarta /dʒəˈkɑːrtə/, officially known as the Special Capital Region of Jakarta (Indonesian: Daerah Khusus Ibu Kota Jakarta), is the capital and largest city of Indonesia, (though Jakarta is also a province) and one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world.
Located on the northwest coast of Java, Jakarta is the country's economic, cultural and political centre, and with a population of 10,075,310 as of 2014. The official metropolitan area, known as Jabodetabek (a name formed by combining the initial syllables of Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi), is the fourth largest in the world, yet the metropolis's suburbs still continue beyond it. Its unofficial built-up (metropolitan) area covers Bogor, Tangerang, Bekasi, Karawang, Serang, Purwakarta, Sukabumi and Subang regencies (123 districts) including also Tangerang, Bekasi, Tangerang Selatan, Depok, Serang and Cilegon Municipalities was home to 30,214,303 inhabitants as of 2010 census.
Established in the fourth century, the city became an important trading port for the Kingdom of Sunda. It was the de facto capital of the Dutch East Indies (known as Batavia at that time). Today, the city has continued as the capital of Indonesia since the country's independence was declared in 1945. The city is currently the seat of the ASEAN Secretariat as well as houses important financial institutions such as the Bank of Indonesia, the Indonesia Stock Exchange, and the corporate headquarters of numerous Indonesian companies and multinational corporations. Jakarta's business opportunities, as well as its potential to offer a higher standard of living, attract migrants from all over Indonesia, making the city a melting pot of many communities and cultures.

Jakarta! is the first novel by writer Christophe Dorigné-Thomson published by the Indonesian media conglomerate Kompas Gramedia Group in 2012.
Jakarta! was widely promoted in the media and endorsed by major Indonesian figures such as businessman and owner of football club Inter Milan Erick Thohir, businessman Sandiaga Uno, politician Irman Gusman, Minister of Education Anies Baswedan or actor Rio Dewanto.
The novel tells the story of a young European who travels the world on missions paid by governments or multinationals to kill high-level targets. The book is in fact a disguised essay on geopolitical shifts and their consequences.

Jakarta’s city government has made huge investments in expanding and improving public transport in recent years. Between 2017 and 2021, Jakarta doubled its public transport coverage from 42% to 82%, contributing to a shift of 9.3% from cars and 21.7% from motorcycles to bus rapid transit. The city is also on track to provide 95% of all residents with public transport access within 500 metres of their home by the end of 2022. Through Mikotrans, TransJakarta, and the expansion and improvement of public transport networks across the city, travelling has been made affordable and accessible, opening up Jakarta for millions of people and creating new good, green jobs in the process. When arriving in Jakarta, you can either use a taxi or the skytrain to get into central Jakarta, As the train worked out cheaper, we decided to hop onto the train and see what Jakarta's train system is like.
Much to our surprise, we did not expect Jakarta's Skytrain to be impressive. It was a little bit of a struggle to navigate getting to the sky train from Soekarna- Hatta International airport but once we were on the train, it was smooth sailing. This train even had a bathroom which was beyond our expectations!

JPM Dukuh Atas yang dibangun sejak 2021 siap diresmikan pengoperasiannya bersama dengan peresmian LRT Jabodebek. JPM Dukuh Atas akan menghubungkan lima moda dań memberikan kemudahan dan kenyamanan transit.
AKARTA, KOMPAS — Jembatan Penyeberangan Multiguna atau JPM Dukuh Atas segera diresmikan akhir Agustus 2023. Peresmian dilakukan bersama dengan peresmian pengoperasian LRT Jabodebek.
Direktur Utama PT Integrasi Transit Jakarta (ITJ) Ferdiansyah Roestam, Jumat (25/8/2023), mengatakan, JPM Dukuh Atas tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai titik transit atau perpindahan, tetapi juga menghubungkan sejumlah moda transportasi umum, seperti commuter line, MRT Jakarta, LRT Jabodebek, KA Bandara, dan Transjakarta, sehingga pola perjalanan lebih efisien.
”Keberadaan JPM Dukuh Atas akan semakin mempermudah masyarakat dalam bermobilitas, khususnya mempermudah perpindahan antarmoda transportasi publik,” kata Ferdi.
Direktur Utama PT Jakarta Lingko Indonesia (JakLingko) Mega Tarigan menambahkan, pengoperasian JPM Dukuh Atas didukung sistem pembayaran terintegrasi yang andal melalui penggunaan aplikasi Jaklingko. ”Masyarakat akan memperoleh manfaat berupa kemudahan pembayaran, kecepatan transaksi serta efisiensi biaya, serta turut membantu mengurangi polusi udara dari emisi kendaraan bermotor,” ujar Mega.
Dibangun di Kawasan Berorientasi Transit (KBT) Dukuh Atas, JPM Dukuh Atas dibangun untuk menjadikan perjalanan harian lebih lancar dan lebih mudah serta memberikan dampak positif pada lalu lintas kota dan lingkungan.
Sebagai penghubung lima moda transportasi umum di KBT Dukuh Atas, JPM Dukuh Atas dilengkapi dengan toko yang menjual perlengkapan khusus (specialty store), toko kebutuhan sehari-hari (convenience store), dan tenant makanan dan minuman. JPM Dukuh Atas juga merupakan ruang publik yang ramah pesepeda dan ramah pejalan kaki.
Dengan adanya integrasi transportasi dan fasilitas yang memudahkan penumpang ataupun masyarakat bermobilitas diharapkan akan memotivasi masyarakat beralih dari kendaraan pribadi ke berbagai pilihan transportasi umum.
Membentang sepanjang 235 meter, JPM Dukuh Atas terbentang dari Stasiun LRT Jabodebek, menyusuri Waduk Setiabudi, menyeberang Kanal Barat, dan berujung di Stasiun KRL Sudirman. JPM Dukuh Atas awalnya dikerjakan PT Moda Integrasi Transportasi Jabodetabek (MITJ) berdasarkan penugasan dari PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) dan PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero).
MITJ dalam pelaksanaannya bekerja sama dengan mitra Kerja Sama Operasi (KSO) Waskita Bersama Vision First, yang terdiri dari PT Integrasi Transit Jakarta, PT Waskita Realty, Tower Bersama Group, dan CityVision, yang kemudian menunjuk PT Waskita Beton Precast Tbk sebagai kontraktor pelaksana dari proyek ini.
Dalam perkembangannya, PT Integrasi Transit Jakarta (PT ITJ) ditugasi PT MRT Jakarta bergabung dalam KSO WBVF. Tujuannya untuk melakukan akselerasi pembangunan dan pengelolaan JPM Dukuh Atas. JPM Dukuh Atas itu dibangun dengan menggunakan creative financing yang tidak menggunakan dana APBD dan APBN.
Ferdi menambahkan, peresmian JPM Dukuh Atas akan diwarnai festival kuliner. Festival dengan menghadirkan 42 tenant tersebut akan diselenggarakan di lantai 2 dan lantai 3 JPM Dukuh Atas.
”Festival Kuliner Nusantara bertajuk Jalur Negeri Rasa digelar selama satu bulan,” ucap Ferdi.

Jakarta’s city government has made huge investments in expanding and improving public transport in recent years.
Between 2017 and 2021, Jakarta doubled its public transport coverage from 42% to 82%, contributing to a shift of 9.3% from cars and 21.7% from motorcycles to bus rapid transit. The city is also on track to provide 95% of all residents with public transport access within 500 metres of their home by the end of 2022.
Through Mikotrans, TransJakarta, and the expansion and improvement of public transport networks across the city, travelling has been made affordable and accessible, opening up Jakarta for millions of people and creating new good, green jobs in the process.

Indonesia’s capital Jakarta, has long been notorious for its snarling traffic, These extends to its surrounding Metropolitan Area. So, why is Greater Jakarta so Congested?
Its home to more than 30 million people, Greater Jakarta faces constant gridlock. Each day, the megacity's population records some 48 million trips, with more than 22 million of the commuters concentrated in central Jakarta.
But while the number of motorized vehicles has increased by 8.1 per cent every year, data from Jakarta government shows the road network has barely expanded, with an annual growth rate of 0.01 percent. It is the supply and demand imbalance that creates the traffic congestion. Leading to an annual loss of $4.6 billion.
So, how does Jakarta improve its traffic mobility?
As part of Widodo’s public infrastructure program, which focused on the modernization, expansion and integration of its transport system. From the Transjakarta Bus Rapid Transit, to its rail network system.

When arriving in Jakarta, you can either use a taxi or the skytrain to get into central Jakarta, As the train worked out cheaper, we decided to hop onto the train and see what Jakarta's train system is like.
Much to our surprise, we did not expect Jakarta's Skytrain to be impressive. It was a little bit of a struggle to navigate getting to the sky train from Soekarna- Hatta International airport but once we were on the train, it was smooth sailing. This train even had a bathroom which was beyond our expectations!

JPM Dukuh Atas yang dibangun sejak 2021 siap diresmikan pengoperasiannya bersama dengan peresmian LRT Jabodebek. JPM Dukuh Atas akan menghubungkan lima moda dań memberikan kemudahan dan kenyamanan transit.
AKARTA, KOMPAS — Jembatan Penyeberangan Multiguna atau JPM Dukuh Atas segera diresmikan akhir Agustus 2023. Peresmian dilakukan bersama dengan peresmian pengoperasian LRT Jabodebek.
Direktur Utama PT Integrasi Transit Jakarta (ITJ) Ferdiansyah Roestam, Jumat (25/8/2023), mengatakan, JPM Dukuh Atas tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai titik transit atau perpindahan, tetapi juga menghubungkan sejumlah moda transportasi umum, seperti commuter line, MRT Jakarta, LRT Jabodebek, KA Bandara, dan Transjakarta, sehingga pola perjalanan lebih efisien.
”Keberadaan JPM Dukuh Atas akan semakin mempermudah masyarakat dalam bermobilitas, khususnya mempermudah perpindahan antarmoda transportasi publik,” kata Ferdi.
Direktur Utama PT Jakarta Lingko Indonesia (JakLingko) Mega Tarigan menambahkan, pengoperasian JPM Dukuh Atas didukung sistem pembayaran terintegrasi yang andal melalui penggunaan aplikasi Jaklingko. ”Masyarakat akan memperoleh manfaat berupa kemudahan pembayaran, kecepatan transaksi serta efisiensi biaya, serta turut membantu mengurangi polusi udara dari emisi kendaraan bermotor,” ujar Mega.
Dibangun di Kawasan Berorientasi Transit (KBT) Dukuh Atas, JPM Dukuh Atas dibangun untuk menjadikan perjalanan harian lebih lancar dan lebih mudah serta memberikan dampak positif pada lalu lintas kota dan lingkungan.
Sebagai penghubung lima moda transportasi umum di KBT Dukuh Atas, JPM Dukuh Atas dilengkapi dengan toko yang menjual perlengkapan khusus (specialty store), toko kebutuhan sehari-hari (convenience store), dan tenant makanan dan minuman. JPM Dukuh Atas juga merupakan ruang publik yang ramah pesepeda dan ramah pejalan kaki.
Dengan adanya integrasi transportasi dan fasilitas yang memudahkan penumpang ataupun masyarakat bermobilitas diharapkan akan memotivasi masyarakat beralih dari kendaraan pribadi ke berbagai pilihan transportasi umum.
Membentang sepanjang 235 meter, JPM Dukuh Atas terbentang dari Stasiun LRT Jabodebek, menyusuri Waduk Setiabudi, menyeberang Kanal Barat, dan berujung di Stasiun KRL Sudirman. JPM Dukuh Atas awalnya dikerjakan PT Moda Integrasi Transportasi Jabodetabek (MITJ) berdasarkan penugasan dari PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) dan PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero).
MITJ dalam pelaksanaannya bekerja sama dengan mitra Kerja Sama Operasi (KSO) Waskita Bersama Vision First, yang terdiri dari PT Integrasi Transit Jakarta, PT Waskita Realty, Tower Bersama Group, dan CityVision, yang kemudian menunjuk PT Waskita Beton Precast Tbk sebagai kontraktor pelaksana dari proyek ini.
Dalam perkembangannya, PT Integrasi Transit Jakarta (PT ITJ) ditugasi PT MRT Jakarta bergabung dalam KSO WBVF. Tujuannya untuk melakukan akselerasi pembangunan dan pengelolaan JPM Dukuh Atas. JPM Dukuh Atas itu dibangun dengan menggunakan creative financing yang tidak menggunakan dana APBD dan APBN.
Ferdi menambahkan, peresmian JPM Dukuh Atas akan diwarnai festival kuliner. Festival dengan menghadirkan 42 tenant tersebut akan diselenggarakan di lantai 2 dan lantai 3 JPM Dukuh Atas.
”Festival Kuliner Nusantara bertajuk Jalur Negeri Rasa digelar selama satu bulan,” ucap Ferdi.

The city of Jakarta, Indonesia’s capital, won the 2021 Sustainable Transport Award and made the public transport system a priority in the last four years. “Other than connecting places, public transport also connects people” says Jakarta’s Governor Anies Baswedan. “Global equitable access to public transport is urgent to stop the climate crisis: to further expand and electrify public transportation more than $208 billion is needed every year by the next decade just in C40 cities”.

Jakarta /dʒəˈkɑːrtə/, officially known as the Special Capital Region of Jakarta (Indonesian: Daerah Khusus Ibu Kota Jakarta), is the capital and largest city of Indonesia, (though Jakarta is also a province) and one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world.
Located on the northwest coast of Java, Jakarta is the country's economic, cultural and political centre, and with a population of 10,075,310 as of 2014. The official metropolitan area, known as Jabodetabek (a name formed by combining the initial syllables of Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi), is the fourth largest in the world, yet the metropolis's suburbs still continue beyond it. Its unofficial built-up (metropolitan) area covers Bogor, Tangerang, Bekasi, Karawang, Serang, Purwakarta, Sukabumi and Subang regencies (123 districts) including also Tangerang, Bekasi, Tangerang Selatan, Depok, Serang and Cilegon Municipalities was home to 30,214,303 inhabitants as of 2010 census.
Established in the fourth century, the city became an important trading port for the Kingdom of Sunda. It was the de facto capital of the Dutch East Indies (known as Batavia at that time). Today, the city has continued as the capital of Indonesia since the country's independence was declared in 1945. The city is currently the seat of the ASEAN Secretariat as well as houses important financial institutions such as the Bank of Indonesia, the Indonesia Stock Exchange, and the corporate headquarters of numerous Indonesian companies and multinational corporations. Jakarta's business opportunities, as well as its potential to offer a higher standard of living, attract migrants from all over Indonesia, making the city a melting pot of many communities and cultures.
